ARIN KIM’s artwork explores her identity and personal experiences through storytelling. Born in Korea but raised in Indonesia, Arin is inspired by the diversity within the artistic and cultural customs that she was exposed to. Arin derives inspiration from the motifs she encounters in her experiences. Through her artworks, she captures a range of emotional complexities and translates them onto a canvas. Her works transform raw personal interactions into visual narratives that embrace, question, and highlight the ambiguities in our lives. She creates vivid palettes with gouache, oil, and acrylic paint that playfully blend and clash to bring about both a sense of harmony and dissonance. Arin works with various paint mediums and creates mixed media pieces through printmaking and painting.
