DEADLINES

Submissions are always open. There is no fee to submit.

• Due to large amounts of submissions and our small circle of staff, please expect a response in about 2-8 months after submission.

• If more than 6 months have passed and you have not received an email from us, feel free to reach out to us through email or Instagram DM.

If you have already submitted to the journal, please wait at least 6 months before submitting again.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

We accept previously published work and simultaneous submissions. If your work is accepted to another magazine before we contact you, please let us know the reprinting guidelines (crediting, etc.)

• You may submit to multiple genres 

• Your work should be double spaced, 12 point, in a legible font, and attached as a PDF or Word Document.

• We welcome hybrid works. they should follow the same guidelines as prose.

• Please email your submission to temporal.lobe.literary@gmail.com. Please include a short cover letter (under 100 words) and a short third-person author bio.

GUIDELINES FOR PROSE

Each piece of prose must be less than 18 pages.

• You may submit up to three pieces of prose.

• Your work must be nonfiction or creative nonfiction prose, including but not limited to: memoir, familiar essay, interview, biography, and autobiography. However, we do not accept academic research. 

GUIDELINES FOR POETRY

Each poem must be less than 100 lines.

• You may submit up to five works of poetry.

• Your work must be a form of creative nonfiction poetry.

All submissions remain the intellectual property of the author. Rights revert to the author upon publication.
